Keynote Speakers

Dr. Susan Little
DVM, DABVP
Dr. Susan Little received her BSc from Dalhousie University (Nova Scotia, Canada) and her DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. She has been in feline practice since 1990 and achieved board certification in Feline Practice in 1997. Dr. Little is part owner of two feline specialty practices in Ottawa, Canada. She is a board member and Past President (2015) of the American Assoc. of Feline Practitioners, as well as being a past board member and Past President of the Winn Feline Foundation. Dr. Little also serves on the board of the International Council for Veterinary Assessment (formerly NBVME). She is the editor and co-author of The Cat: Clinical Medicine and Management, published by Elsevier in 2012. Dr. Little is also the editor and co-author for volume 7 of August’s Consultations in Feline Internal Medicine, published by Elsevier in 2015.

Dr. Daniel Pang
BVSc, MSc, PhD, DACVAA,DECVAA, FRCVS
Dr. Daniel Pang is a Professor of veterinary anesthesiology at the University of Calgary (UCVM) and an adjunct Professor at the Université de Montréal. He received his veterinary degree in 2000 from the University of Bristol and completed a MSc and residency in veterinary anaesthesia at the University of Montreal after a year in small animal practice and an internship (University of Glasgow). He received his PhD in neuroscience (molecular mechanisms of volatile anaesthetics) from Imperial College, London (2011). Daniel is a Diplomate of the European and American Colleges of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia. Daniel has an active research group and his research interests include pain assessment, perioperative safety and improving clinical practice.

Dr. Jessica Pang
BSc(Hons), DVM, MVetSc
Dr. Jessica Pang completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (2003), Master of Veterinary Science (2006), and Anesthesia Residency (2006) at WCVM. Since that time, Jessica has worked in both academic and private practice in Canada and the UK, and held faculty positions at the Université de Montréal and the University of Calgary. Jessica joined Alberta Veterinary Dentistry in 2021 and became a partner in 2023. She currently works full-time at AVD as lead anesthetist and provides sessional teaching at UCVM as an adjunct assistant professor.
